William Scott Anderson

William Scott Anderson, age 36, passed from this earthly life as a result of a traffic accident on November 3, 2008. Scott was born on June 9, 1972 in Orange, Orange County, CA to Steve and Denyce Walker Anderson. He is finally able to meet his father, William Stephen Anderson, who preceded him in death, when Scott was at the early age of 11 months and 23 days.

 

Scott attended schools in Odessa, Murray Fly Elementary, Ector Jr. High and Odessa High School. He graduated from Snyder High School.

 

He was an outdoorsman who loved all sports but mainly baseball and football. He loved riding a motorcycle, a passion he had from an early age. He used to sit in the floor and hold out his hands and say, “Vroom, Vroom!” At 6’4”, he really enjoyed hiding things in high places. He was ornery enough to have fun seeing shorter family members trying to find things he had hidden.

 

He had worked in the oilfields of west Texas and western Colorado. He held the positions of roughneck, tool pusher and was a tool truck driver for Express Energy Services at the time of his death.

 

He was a Christian and a member of the Church of Christ.

 

He was preceded in death, in addition to his father, by his paternal grandmother, Martha Anderson; and maternal grandfather, James R. Walker and uncle, James R. Walker, Jr.

 

Scott is survived by Misty and his daughter, “the light of his life”, Cheyanne, and two step-children who he dearly loved, Shawnda and Brandon Weeks. He is also survived by his mother, Denyce Guyer, one brother, Vernon Hodgkins and his wife, Lori; one sister, Stormy Burleson, his step-father, Gerald Hodgkins; his paternal grandfather, William L. Anderson and Judy, his maternal grandmother, Violet Walker and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held for Scott at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa at 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2008. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Bro. Roy Jones, minister, will officiate. Arrangements are by Acres West Funeral Chapel.

 

God has brought one more Angel home to watch over us.
