(1/Sep/2015) Most of the photos on this account can be shared freely under the terms of the accompanying Creative Commons license. If you want to discuss other terms, that's possible too.

You have the following options to use my photos:

1) If I have released the photo under a Creative Commons license, you may distribute the photo for free under the terms of that license. At the very least this means that you must mention my name and you must mention the license.

If you are distributing the photo in a format that allows linking (say: on a web page), you must link to both the photo and the license. For example: photo by Branko Collin, some rights reserved.

If you are distributing the photo via a medium that does not allow linking, for example a print magazine, you must state the license clearly, for example: photo by Branko Collin, Creative Commons BY-SA.

2) I am a great admirer of the Creative Commons system. In order to encourage you to use the Creative Commons license, I will allow you to license photos under different terms, but at a considerable price. What this price will be depends on the terms and on the intended usage, but it will be no less than 100 euro per photo.

3) If for some reason you cannot or will not negotiate before using my photo, you can contact me afterwards to negotiate a price. That price will be no less than 4 times the price you would have paid if we had agreed to a license beforehand, which will be no less than 400 euro per photo.

To give you a feel for the sort of usage that I will sell you the cheapest license for: school reports, and unpopular, non-commercial blogs. A non-commercial blog is one that, amongst others, does not display advertisements of any kind. What I am saying is: I really, really want you to use the Creative Commons license when it's available. If for some reason you don't want to tell other people that they can also use a photo for free, you will have to pay for the privilege.

Note 1: that none of my photos come with model releases. Depending on the subject and the country you are in, you may need to acquire these yourself.

Note 2: if you want to have proof that I published my photos under a certain Creative Commons license, there are several ways to go about that. Archives such as the Wayback Machine may store earlier versions of this page. Maybe Flickr can help you. You can make snapshots using a service like Pinboard. I could also provide you with a signed 'contact sheet' upon request for a small fee to offset my costs. I am thinking of about 10 euro per page containing several miniatures, but contact me---we'll work something out.
