I have always loved photography. I remember my first point and shoot camera (the plastic rectangular kind with a thumb-wind) and the first photo i took (of my 3rd grade class in France). Getting a polaroid when I was 11 was huge, I loved the instant part. At 14 I bought my first decent 35mm, a pentax, and started getting really into it. Then my godfather gave me an Argus C3 1941, which was amazing! Real flash pan with bulbs and all.. I went to Arnold Schwarzenegger's book signing, sneaked in with the press, and caught all of the photographers' attention, at least :)
When I got my first digital camera, I was excited that the technology had made it a lot easier (and cheaper), but soon the point-and-shoot was just not cutting it. I decided to go for a real camera, and got a Canon 20D digital SLR in 2005, and have been pretty happy with it and my 50mm 1.4 lens. However I upgraded then to a 50D and now shoot with a 5DM2, although I find myself taking and uploading a lot of photos taken on the iPhone.
My favorite to photograph is people. I never wanted to do it it professionally; it's a serious hobby. I love sharing my pictures with people, and especially taking ones they actually like of themselves. I have published a Book of Smiles, and Ben & Paper, collections of my photography, writing and art.
My passion, apart from indulging in some other art, is activism.Global Youth Action Network, TakingITGlobal, Chat The Planet, and We Are Family Foundation's Three Dot Dash, primarily. And health sovereignty: Natural-Immunogenics.
