I love Ben's illustrations. They are originally weird or weirdly original but they possess a sweetness and sincerity that gives depth and value to the work. Ben's is one of my favorite Flickr pages to visit (and I do, regularly) and I look forward to the day when he makes prints of his work available (yes Ben, that's a hint) so that some of his characters can come to live at our place.
Read lessBen's art strikes me as extremely ernest, sincere and simplistically uplifting in it's messaging. Not simplistic without talent, but simplistic in knowing your audience and fans. because there is much a talent here. Ben's art cuts right through the bull and has a conversation with your soul.
Ben and I served throughout the Second World War, the entire time Ben was drawing a walrus riding Hitler. His drawing talent runs deep, and has far outlived him.
