I started noticing boxcar art in 2003, and started taking pictures of it shortly after. I dont know what it is that caught my eye but ever since then i started taking more notice to the monikers and the whole culture surrounding them. There is something about the mystery, the travel, the trains, being outdoors, the smell of steel, that draws me into the yard. In 2003 i never knew the importance of documenting boxcar art, but with bca fading away, and being gone over by aerosol writers I know understand. The monikers of the past are slowly being instinct and becoming rare to see. taking pictures and documenting them is how im doing my part to preserve and let them live on.

I want to thank mick trackside and faded glory magazine, colossus of roads, bill daniel, the kodak kidd, Micheal poulin, and north bank fred. They are all a big influence to me and a big part of the moniker culture.
