Having once borrowed a Kodak, Brownie 127 camera to record a ten day school trip to Holland, I was left with a hankering for a camera with which I could take technically better photographs and even try to introduce some art into my pictures.

It wasn't until a year or two before my retirement from the world of mechanical engineering that I finally bought myself a Nikon D3100 and followed it up with a couple of extra lenses and a tripod.

From my childhood years I have continued to be interested in wildlife and nature and have found my Nikon invaluable in getting a closer look at birds, bugs and flowers. Aircraft are another of my passions. (Note to self : - must study how to photograph aircraft). More recently I have become a fan of photographing people in all their surprising and colourful guises. To that end I have taken street portraits and, since 2013, many photos of lovely Steampunks at the local Asylum festivals.

In the future I wish to develop my ability to modifying photos for artistic effect.

I always appreciate it if a photo of mine is faved, and any comments made will also be appreciated
