I’m a creative soul and like to get excited about concepts. I try my hardest to be origional and honest with my artwork. I hate injustice and love tea & cakes and good company. The best part of my life is when I’m camping in the middle of nowhere on some Scottish Isle or anywhere wild with my boyfriend and my dog.
I draw landscapes in Charcoal, paint abstracts, and I’ve made some video pieces using an old three machine editing technique. I also make textile pieces using prints of my digital artwork that can start life from things that I’ve made, found or my photography. My work draws inspiration from my facination with the transitions in chaos, fractals and natural patterns.
I grew up in Sherwood Forest. My family moved into Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre in 1979. I spent most of my time outdoors making dolls out of flowers, collecting acorns and twigs and watching beetles journey across dead tree trunks. Over the years I have absorbed a lot of knowledge about the forest and love it dearly. I think this experience owes greatly to my love of the natural world.
I’m moved by the beauty of ancient and wild landscapes and amazed by the similarities between organic stuctures and fractal geometry
My work explores contact with my universe by responding to influences in my day to day life, music, media, My story, My surroundings, shapes found in nature, my imagination and the creative processes I use.
I’ve been battling with chronic pain for about 5 years and have at last started to get my health back on track after trying Reiki out of desperation. To my delight, this has also made my connection to the beauty in nature much stronger.
