Hallo! I'm Sylvie, an asian 18-years-old girl who lives near Paris, France. I am of Chinese-Thai descent.

At first, I took pictures like everyone would have done - capture the inforgettable moments. But my interest in photography has flourished ever since my mom gave me her Canon Powershot S45 (a pretty chubby one). This camera offered a lot of manual controls she never used during the 6 years she owned it - i explored its features my own way and it helped me improving my knowledge and my techniques in photography (note: i still suck at it)

It took a long time for me to choose another camera (my S45 was getting old) oscillating between the portability of a high end compact and the quality of a DSLR. I finally got a Nikon D50 at a bargain price.

I do enjoy photography, but not as a professional (hah, you can notice it through the pics). Though I'm trying to learn as much as I can :-)

I mainly use my D50, occasionally my 8-year-old Powershot S45 (used to be my mom's); my sister's Powershot A610; my mom's Canon IXY Digital 820 IS; and my friend's Canon Powershot SX10.
