Now some could say I may be biased in my opinion of Melissa's photos, and to a point they may be right. But few have seen her skills progress over the years as I have. From her point and shoot days to when she 'lived' in the darkroom while in college shooting with a used Kalimar 5000 with a 50mm Minolta lens, her limited equipment never impaired her artistic vision or boundless passion. When I see photos I know she took while I was standing right beside her, I still struggle to place in my minds eye how I could have ever missed the nuance of the moment she was able to capture in that frame. Even if I wasn't her 'pack mule' I'd still find her artistic talent amazing. Biased? Yes, but lucky that she loves me.
