I am an artist and writer who has been living in Bogotá, Colombia, for many, many years. I do fine art photography using primarily a Mamiya TLR, Fuji Neopan film and a handheld light meter. I also use a Pentax K1000 or even a little Canon Sure Shot. I print my negatives in a tradtional darkroom. The photos you see are for sale.
I am also working on a book that seems to be growing of its own accord. It covers 1960 to 1996, more or less, and is written in diary form by the protagonist. It was supposed to be just one breezy volume, but now it'll be two, and not so breezy, but not heavy-going.
I read a lot, in Spanish and English. My favorite author is Mario Vargas Llosa, whom I have been reading for at least 30 years now. Is he an influence? Well . . . Can't answer. Otherwise, I read El Tiempo, Gatopardo, Vanity Fair and The Atlantic.
I take long walks with my dogs.
I go to the movies and currently recommend the French film, "Un Profète." For those of you who loved Alain Delon, this is an updated version of his '70s films. (No, not the Jane Fonda one. The ones with the Corsican references.)
That's all I can write. This space is limited.
