Thank you for visiting my Flickr site. I started my serious pursuit of photography in the summer of 2006 during a trip to Asia. I have learned a lot and like to think I have improved my skills along the way, realizing that I have a very long way to go on a journey that has no end. I have no formal training as a photographer and know what I know by reading books and experience. Thanks to the wonderful age of digital photography gaining the aforementioned experience (i.e. taking a lot of pictures) was not as expensive as in the days of film.
All pictures on this site were taken by me using a Nikon DSLR and post-processed in Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. By post-processed, I refer to the enhancement of the digitally captured images not the fabrication of something that never was. All photos are altered from the camera capture for White Balance, Contrast and Sharpness. So the end product that you see is what the camera captured and what my limited skills in post-processing allowed me to enhance.

I thought it was about time that I wrote a testimonial for one of my favorite animal photographers on Flickr. Dyrk's work touches the heart, and his obvious empathy with animals shines through in every shot. I've always firmly believed that, no matter what equipment you may use, it takes a true understanding of animal behavior, and a gifted sense of timing to catch THAT decisive moment. I believe Dyrk could catch that very same moment with a Brownie Box camera, his talent is so extensive! He's a true artist with his camera. I look forward to seeing much more of his work in the near (and far) future. Well done, my friend.
Read lessBodokitty really has awesome animal pictures. He's really talented and I enjoy his work very much, especially the shots of the big cats (my favorite animals). He's always surprising me with his new pictures! :) Really a great photostream!
