She has great understanding of lighting and artistic composition. The photos she produces are beautiful. But she also does her work with a song and enthusiasm. I look at her photos often and can't wait for the next.

The first time I came across Lia's images I was amazed. Everyone, without fail, captured the wonders of her surroundings. A good photographers goal is to put the viewer in our shoes. The first time I came across Lia's images I was amazed. Everyone, without fail, captured the wonders of her surroundings. A good photographers goal is to put the viewer in our shoes. To let them feel like they are actually looking at the environment we see through our lenses. Lia has that gift. Her love of nature shows through with every click of the shutter. I'm glad to have found her stream and even happier I've gotten to know her. She is a pure joy and an amazingly talented person. Dave

Among the very best that Flickr has to offer. Having once visited Bocavermelha’s photostream I, like many others, have found myself making increasingly frequent return visits. The beauty of many of Lia’s images border on the hypnotic, and the clarity of her eye for the ‘right-shot-in-the-perfect-moment’ is an inspiration. The descriptions that accompany her photos often move you even deeper into the heart of the action – the tension in the gaze of a stalking lion, the flash of action as a bird dives. Long may Bocavermelha continue to capture the light of the Dark Continent!

In a world where too often people forget that we are one with all of life on this planet and that if we do not let the balnce remain we will pay dearly Lia is a bright light. Her fotos, thru there perceptiveness and humor, remind us of the beauty and necessity of our relatives across the spectrum of living creatures.

A couple of things on Bocavermelha... you can have an enormous knowledge about photography.. but it is not enough, you can have the newest and most advanced camera and lens.. but still it is not enough.. to be a breathtaking photographer you must have the eye and the heart...and she has definitely both

Apart from the most incredible, inspirational and beautiful pictures, Lia also has a great talent to evoke strong emotions with the descriptions she writes with her pictures. If you have not had a chance to see many of her pictures, stop reading this and get involved!! Definitley one of my favourite flickrites!!

Bocavermelha's photostream and her cause of animal protection is an absolute inspiration. Each wildlife photo not only provides the viewer with a sense of astonishment, but also with the realization that life, along with its ecosystem is priceless.

Bocavermelha's photographs of African wildlife are gorgeous but more than that the character of the animals she photographs and her love for wildness shines through in the stories that go with the photographs.
