Bob Carr was born in 1924 in Terre Haute, Indiana where he first studied art. After serving as a weather mapper in the Army Air Corps in WWII in the South Pacific, he returned to his home state to attend the John Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis.

Bob then made the permanent move to Los Angeles where he studied painting further at the Art Center School. (Now called Art Center College of Design, in Pasadena, CA). Bob decided the Chouinard Art Institute (Now called California Institute of the Arts) was more his style; transfered, and received his BA.

Upon graduation he landed various full time work as an assistant animator at Walt Disney Studios. When Disney began focusing efforts on the creation of Walt Disney World, Bob paid the bills as an animator for Hanna Barbera Productions, Filmation Associates, and Bakshi Productions. Bob also illustrated for book publisher McGraw Hill in New York City.

Now 80 years young, Bob lives in Irvine, California where he continues to paint and sculpt every day.
