Being a designer, I like to create spaces that mix styles, periods, surfaces and textures. Using salvaged or reclaimed pieces are also extremely important to me. I'm drawn to items that have an interesting history, can be reused in a unique way or that have been handmade. And always try to incorporate those types of pieces into the spaces I design. This concept helps keep the visual interest high and carbon footprint low, as well as giving my clients a space that is personable and unlike any other.

My fine arts background has made me an extremely creative designer, who's artistic, versatile and passionate about creating spaces that are unique, personable and equally artistic. As you'll see, custom wall art/decor, murals and painting treatments that I make or create are a huge part of my aesthetic. I really love to do it and I love the impact something like that gives a room.

So when it comes to my own artwork and decor, my passion is the same. I like creating pieces that have been recycled or repurposed in some way, and incorporating salvaged items from junk mail and coffee grinds in my paintings for added texture, to found metal, hardware, wire, and reclaimed wood for frames. I tend to look at objects for what they can be and not necessarily what they are. And hope that my artwork evokes thoughtful conversations, and in some cases a little laughter :) You can see (and purchase) all of my personal artwork and decor on Etsy at: www.etsy.com/shop/bcreativedesign
