I have loved taking photos ever since I was a child: my first camera – given

to me by my grandad, a hobby photographer himself – was an old Daci.

Meanwhile, a few cameras later, I can’t do without my Canon 350D anymore, enjoying the freedom of photographing the world around me (preferably the beauty of nature & Creation) without running out of film. I partly regret not having had a digital camera during my year in Australia where I spent the best time of my life and could have taken photos of the country's breathtaking nature every step of my way…

Since I grew up in Dresden, East Germany, where coloured prints were a luxury only few could afford, black-and-white photos were all I knew until the Wall came down in 1989. Deprived of coloured images for so long, I have appreciated being able to preserve the real colours of my surroundings since then, only recently (re)discovering the appeal of black-and-white photography with certain motifs.
