I am a landscape, seascape and underwater photographer living in Canberra, Australia.

My call to photography started as I wanted to give people more of an insight into the underwater world. My interest has expanded as I attempt to communicate how I see the underwater world and the coastal landscape.

I have built my photo gear around mirrorless systems since 2013, initially in the micro four-thirds (m43) system and most recently on the awesome Fujifilm X systems, with my cameras being a Fuji X-T3 and a Panasonic Lumix G9. I have a range of lenses, and kit for topside and underwater imagery.

My Starring and Commenting Approach

I am not a fan of likes, faves or stars in and of themselves. I once wrote about my thoughts on this trend that is at the core of the Insta experience where many are seeking Insta-stardom, insta-gratification and other fakery.

Clicking a link to Like or Favourite favourite takes a single second, and even less thought. People do it routinely, move on and often give no more thought whatsoever to the topic.

So, I make a commitment that if I really like a photo I will practice 'mindful favouriting'—I will click the star button, but I will also take a moment to write a comment. Even in those comments when I am pasting in some code for a group, there will be at least a few words from me.

My likes and comments will be authentic.
