GOD BLESS AMERICA
About me:
I've been seriously involved in photography since I was 12 years old back in 1957. I began developing ektachrome film and making 35mm color slides when I was 13, and in high school I took 2 years of a minor course in photography. I did medium format work with a Mamiya RB67-Pro S for a few years, printing 6X7cm ektachrome transparencies on Cibachrome.
It's odd, the things a person forgets then suddenly remembers many years later... I believe my interest in photography was first sparked by a dimestore toy. Back in the 1940s and 1950s there were kits that included tiny black and white negatives and a type of printing paper that formed an image by being exposed to sunlight while sandwiched with the negative. After a few minutes, a small black and white print was formed on the paper. To me, this was magic and science all rolled into one. I can thank my mother for awakening my interest in science and nature. Sometimes people tell me about how much they fear snakes... they're usually dumbfounded when I tell them that the first snake I ever saw was when I was about 4 years old; my mom picked a green snake from some bushes, showed it to me and encouraged me to touch it. She loved nature and taught me to feel the same.
You may notice that most of my scenic/landscape photos are made at f/22. I do this to try and achieve the greatest depth of field possible. I strive to have everything from the closest object in the foreground to the farthest at infinity to be in sharp focus.
I would really rather that photographers didn't "fave" or comment on my photos just to repay me for doing the same. Please favorite my photos on their own merit.

About invitations. I usually accept invitations to add my photos to groups but I avoid award groups and "must comment" groups.
