As a child I collected Jewelry in a suitcase, gathered from my Great Uncle recycling business. It wasn’t so much a business as a need to save, collect and reuse. He survived the depression and was the first environmental conservative I knew.
I picked up all the jewelry I could lay my hands on as I shifted through the things he “rescued”, even stones and scraps didn't escape my eye.
I never understood why people would throw out these miniature works of art.
I went from collecting, to repurposing to making jewelry.
I work in sterling, enamel, blown glass.
I am a New Yorker and LOVE it.
My family is portuguese. If you are a portuguese artist I would love to see your work.
Actually if you are a jewelry , glass , steampunk, urban just out of the usual artist show me your work.
