I'm an ex rail enthusiast with a regained interest, I rediscovered my old photos and a bit of interest so i thought i would share some of them.

I'm slowly scanning hundreds of negatives from the mid to late 80's of which i will put some on here.

I also share my videos here - www.youtube.com/user/TheBlackwatch55013

I used to sit at Rotherwood (near Sheffield) and watch the electric class 76's virtually every weekend and holidays with my mates and we would watch the coal trains arrive with either a pair of 31's, 37's or a 47 and then be taken away by one or two class 76's and the annoying thing is... i NEVER took any photos, we all just sat and watched them and i never thought they would go, but one day they did and i regretted never taking photos! Same with the Deltics, my fave locos, i would just watch them at Doncaster never dreaming they would ever be withdrawn, again how wrong i was! I even missed the Deltic farewell at Doncaster works because i ended up in hospital and missed it all (on my birthday too) and i never got the chance to get photos of 55013 The Black Watch, my all time fave Deltic!

And then there were the class 44's that were a regular engine past Treeton and i even remember the prototype HST with APT-P power car on test trains becoming regular one year but i still never even thought about getting a camera to record my memories...

Eventually i thought to myself that i was missing so much so i went mad and started taking pictures of everything (well the Diesels that interested me most)

Eventually i started working for the railway and that knocked the enthusiast right out of me but i still have fond memories of the 76's and Deltics and other heritage diesels. and i still watch out for the odd rare engine that passes me at work in my little signalbox, often hoping that something interesting will come out of Barrow Hill and go by me to break up the monotony of Sprinter after Sprinter and class 66 after 66...
