I very rarely like people in photographs as art. To me, photography is a way to disconnect from your current, and connect with the the time and place that the photo presents. Having someone in the picture immediately cuts this connection for me and the photo becomes about that person in their experience; I become disinterested in photos like this quickly.

About me:

My name is Jourdan Laik. I enjoy ambient/electronic music and I find that it correlates to photography and graphic design in many ways. I am a Web Developer/Graphic Designer/Programmer by day.

In my free time I am an ambient soundscape architect; which means that I like to produce ambient-like music which creates soundscapes, architectures, and relaxing atmospheres with sound. It's a type of music that needs to be listened to (not just heard) to fully understand and appreciate. I write my own music under the "Paradisaic" moniker, and I also coordinate with a friend, and popular ambient artist Darshan Ambient, under the Daevine moniker.

I also administer & DJ at Lounging Sound, a free-to-listen online radio station playing ambient, chillout, lounge, new age, electronica, psytrance, goa and more 24/7!
