BJ is a great friend and a great photographer, and he's 90% of the reason I switched to dSLR. The thing that's most striking about his photography is its brutal honesty. He's a just-the-facts-please kind of guy, and it comes out in both the way he shoots and the way he writes about his shots. His "objective" style of photography allows his audience to develop their own ideas about his work, rather than imposing his own ideas on his audience. Please, somebody convince him to throw caution to the wind and move to New York. ;-)
