It is my sad duty to report that the previous testimonials pertaining to Mr Bitrot’s general niceness are misguided. Mr Bitrot is an evil genius – by appearing nice, helpful, talented and somewhat of a comedy linguist he is able to lull you into what appears to be a very warm and cosy world of the Manchester Flickr group. From here you will notice his evilness takes on a more subtle approach as you are slowly drawn into his rather amazing photostream. All the time your life begins to slowly ebb away and friends you once had in the ‘real’ world seem more and more distant. Even the seemingly innocuous “flickr meets” that he organises with such aplomb are just another way to lull you further and further into the world of photography and the flickrverse. But seriously…. Mark is one of those rare human beings that appears to be flawless and with very few boundaries to their range of talents. I’m privileged to have met him and I genuinely enjoy his company and his photos. I commend this man to the house.

From the first time I saw them, Mark’s photos stood out for their professionalism, inventiveness and humour. They still do. What’s more Mark is a thoroughly good bloke whom it has been a real pleasure to meet, to learn from and be inspired by. He is always happy to share, to learn and to organise. He can claim credit for marshalling us rabble of Mancunian snappers into a photographic fighting force that is rightly the envy of the Flickrverse. And his talents don’t stop behind the lens, he’s a true polymath combining his picture-making with some wonderfully creative writing, blogging, webmastery and good humoured and generous technical support to those of us untutored in the ways of the ND and the RSS. And as if that wasn't enough, he's a top bloke, patient teacher & endlessly supportive. And he never lets a shot go without a good chimp. I think we can all learn something from him ;-)

Mark's photographs are one of the first thing I look for when I sign in to flickr. His sense of humour shines through in his work and he has shot some of the most imaginative photographs you will see on Flickr (or anywhere else for that matter) athough some of these shots are lighthearted and fun, his execution of his ideas are 1st class and he has a great understanding of light and colour. Mark is also equally adept at the more conventional side of photography and has produced some really beautiful, stunning pieces of work, just have a look through his sets and you will see what I mean! Lastly (and probably most importantly) Mark is a really decent and honest fella and is one of the main contributors to the Manchester groups, he is also always willing to give advice to newcomers and ALWAYS replies to your comments. (unless he cant be bothered, and then he just ignores you) Add Mark/bitrot as a contact, you wont be disappointed!
