“BITOC” is the name I’ve given to my line of jewelry, bags and accessories.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been sewing and creating things. I sewed my first bag at the age of seven using an old ELNA toy sewing machine (without a motor ), that was given to my mother when she was a child. Unfortunately, all I can remember about that bag is that it didn’t last very long!
My passion for arts and crafts grew to be very important and even therapeutic as I began my career as a nurse. It became an excellent way for me to leave work behind and to relieve the stress that accompanies a job in the healthcare.
BITOC? The word was actually a nickname given to me when I worked at the university hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland. It originated when Anne, a colleague of mine, and I were serving meals to our patients one day. One of the dishes was called “Bitoc de veau.” As we had never heard of the dish before, and because “une toc” is slang for “an idiot” in our state, we found it quite amusing. It was the kind of silly joke that just sticks with you, and from then on the two of us became known as the “bitocs” of our unit. A few years later, I began to ponder brand names for my creations. Having moved to Zürich, I missed my friends from Lausanne, especially Anne; who had moved to Canada. Eventually, a familiar nickname popped into my head, made me giggle, and the rest, as they say, is history!
I have designed and created all of the pieces seen here myself, and they are all available for purchase. For information and details about the pieces, or to be notified of an upcoming market, please write to

While English tends to be the most common and practical language on Flickr, feel free to write to me in French or German as well.
