I have been keen on photography since I was a kid - picked it up from my old Dad. I like to take 2 fairly distinct types of photograph:
1. Something that is other than a snapshot - something composed and considered.
2. Snapshots of what I get up to, family and friends, people I meet, places I go etc. I like to record my life, mainly for myself, but also as a record for my son. Something that is a simple snapshot today can be a great piece of family history in 50 years time. Snapshots greatly increase in interest value as they age.
Even the simplest, most naive snapshot will have value to someone someday. I generally only put a few of my snapshots up on Flickr.
I have made it my aim to take one or more photographs every single day. No exceptions.
I'm a Brummie and I'm interested in lots of stuff:
Photography, flickr, music, computers, music playing - programming crap trance and electronica on my computer, music listening - Led Zeppelin, Marvin, Stevie, Eric Clapton, Simple Minds, Brian Ferry, Steve Winwood, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steely Dan, Marcus Miller, Michael McDonald, Apollo 440, Groove Armada, Frank Sinatra, k d Lang, Tony Bennett, Infected Mushroom....etc
Being outdoors, walking - esp Snowdonia. I'm not really happy unless there is a footpath in front of me, preferably with a slight incline, so I get a good a view at the top. Travelling and exploring new places in the UK and abroad. Railways, Canals, Cars, Psychology, Sociology, Soft Systems Engineering, Education, Modern art - esp street art, anti-consumerism, simplicity, cooking, School Governor, Politics, Health, trying to keep fit, Friends, Wife, and Son - all of whom I like to spend time with.
