I am a lover of nature. I have enjoyed photography for about 48 years. My subject matter changes from time to time but for several years now I have concentrated on birds. I have always liked to photograph naturally lit subjects whether they be landscapes, flowers, birds, people. I look for superb natural lighting conditions. These usually occur in the early mornings or late afternoons. I am always looking for great photo opportunities. I seem to get my best inspirations away from home. I find my own area boring, not that there are not opportunities. I will pass on many opportunities simply because the lighting is not right. If possible, I will go back when it is right. If not, then "oh well". I don't shoot unless I like what I see in the viewfinder. Previously I used a Canon EOS 1N film camera and preferred to shoot with Velvia slide film. I finally converted over to a Digital Canon Rebel Xti due to the ease of processing the image. Digital changed the world of photography for me. I am much happier as a digital photographer! I upgraded to a Canon 40D and liked its features much better than the Xti. I then used a Canon 50D for several years and now I am using a Canon 80D. I am still getting to know this camera but love using it.
