Biospheric Foundation is an urban ecological experiment managing a range of projects within the community around food, energy and waste . We have been working to renovate Irwell House, a mill on the banks of the River Irwell. We are currently working alongside Manchester International Festival developing "The Biospheric Project", an urban farm and vertical growing systems (on the roof, in the forest and across the building), which will be hosted at #MIF13 containing exciting workshops, events and research collaborations at the Biospheric Foundation CIC

Another project we manage is our food distribution arm, Whole Box, a wholefoods retail business delivering organic and local wholefoods to Salford and central Manchester. We are just about to launch "57 Step", Salford first community-led Wholefoods Shop and community hub and hyper-localised store with crop taken literally "57 Steps" away produced at our urban farm at The Biospheric Foundation CIC.
