People think blood is thicker than water, that your birth mother is the one that is truly your mother throughout the duration of your lifetime. That is false, any woman can give birth and become a mother. It takes a very special woman to nurture and love a child. There are adult children that play reverse roles and become the parent of their own parents. Healthy relationships are based upon trust, love, and acceptance. My mother spent most of her life raising my sister and brother. I was left to fend for myself. I was the one who was abandoned. When my mother died, billie was there to love me and care for me in a way that my own mother never could. No one in physical form can ever replace my mother Mona, but billie has. She became my spiritual mother. This is a kindred spirit, a bond unbreakable and so full of love. I can not imagine any other person filling my own mother's shoes but billie. There is no other person qualified but billie to enter my private life and know me on a personal level. She knows me inside and out and I love her more than I knew possible. I am here for billie today, tomorrow, 24/7/365, and forever because I love her and she is now my mother. She is my mamma billie. I promise to share her because she is so loved unconditionally. She's also one of the most original and intriguing artists I've ever encountered on Flickr. She takes every day events and turns them into extraordinary images, shifting colours and adding patterns and textures until she creates a piece that makes you stop and look twice and see the event entirely differently. Then around the image she spins the story of how she found it, what was happening, why she treated it the way she did, and generally turning what's a photo into an event and a piece of artwork. Like all great artists, billie's art is about herself, and about the journey she is on. I think it's an honour to be able to join in that journey with her.
