It is a little less than two years since Billy first slung a DSLR camera over his shoulder and discovered the joy of photography. Bills love affair with photography started in the summer of 2008, fresh out of high school when he bought a Canon 450D and an 18-55mm telephoto lens. With minimal instruction he headed off to shoot his first pictures in and around the beautiful town of Stratford Upon Avon. Billy quickly developed a much better understanding and appreciation of apertures, shutter speeds and ISO. Putting into practice these basic principles of exposure, Billy as an amateur photographer reached a level of confidence that permanently changed his approach to every picture taking situation. As well as having a natural ability to see creatively, he became expert at using photo imaging software to create results that he never imagined just a short time ago. At the moment he concentrates on using HDR to record striking images which emulate a painting. I am sure that he will go on to taking more challenging photographs using natural exposure techniques and reach professional standards in not too many years. One has only to view Billy's photo stream and sets on Flickr to appreciate the quality of his work and his progress.
