Simply put, I'd much rather sit at the kids table over hanging with the 'adults'. Kids have no need for small-talk - they just talk about the stuff that matters most, at that very moment. :-)
Dogs are definitely the best friends on earth; particularly ol' Jake.
I like the idea that my wife and I have raised, and lived through raising, my 16 year old son Tyler, whom I have great pride in and respect for.
Its interesting to find that the older your kids get, the more aware you become in how little you knew about raising kids in the first place. A great life's lesson: When our kids are young, we feel there's no one better at raising kids; but as they grow, we learn the flaws in our once perceived perfect ways -- but still, our kids turn out well and succeed. What a great thing.
Kids have ways of adding humility to life.
There is nothing like being a parent.
