Angela Hawes has always had the desire to sculpt. She likes to get her hands dirty and is drawn to all things tactile, so it makes sense that she would gravitate towards the art of sculpting clay.

Over the last year, Angela has been exploring the dirt to see what will happen if she pulls, slaps or pushes it this or that way. It has been a magical, yet spiritual journey with the clay and herself.

The clay transforms itself with the guidance of her hands and they both move forward on the path of discovering the beauty within.

It is her belief that the forms already exist within the clay and that it just needs a little nudge to come to the surface. The clay also nudges back and reminds her that she is an artist.

She has always been an artist... she just forgot.
