Hello all! I am a physics postgraduate student based in Durham, United Kingdom. Over the last few years photography has become one of my passions in life, and an escape from the mentally exhausting world of research. It is flickr that has fuelled that passion. This is a fantastic community. So many kind people have already commented on my work, and best of all a few of you have offered constructive criticism. I will try my best to keep track of the work of all of my contacts and offer feedback on their work. I'm no expert, but if you are like myself then I am sure you will value my opinions.
An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made in a very narrow field.
Photography is a field too broad to become an expert. My photography is simply a creative escape for a person with an overly analytical mind. I do not even consider myself as a photographer. However, I do love the power to capture a moment forever. My work will be viewed by many as "unrealistic". Unrealistic for a photo perhaps, but they are realistic to me. I try to recreate the scenes I capture. I want to create images that look and feel like the moment I saw.
I have recently taken a trip to North America, and have been busily processing photos. Over the coming months I will be slowly releasing these, and favourite images from my back catalogue. I would really appreciate any comments people have to make.
I currently use a Nikon D60 with the standard kit lens and a Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens.
