I have always been a huge lover of nature ever since I turned over my first flower petals in the garden as a toddler and discovered the world of insects.
I am passionate about the well being of our beautiful planet and all of the amazing flora and fauna upon it. It took billions of years for every living thing to evolve to the present state including ourselves and I feel that we as the dominant species are responsible for it and our descendants future.
Through the medium of photography I wish to record and share with you some of the very special creatures, plants and flaura of our incredible planet Earth.
I am a retired Chef
An advanced amateur photographer.
A long time member of Green Peace Canada
I particularly like macro work, bird and animal photography and landscapes.
I love my wife, my family, my pets,Photography walking, Bird watching. Cooking. Yoga. My wife is not quite sure in which order order of priority this list is for me but she suspects that photography is the top of the list.
I don't like the unnecessary slaughter of Rhino's ,Sharks, Tigers and a host of other creatures for mankinds selfish purposes. I hate the lack of commitment of governments and individuals alike in creating a sustainable planet.
A few of my own thought on love and on life.
Love is the essence of all life. In every breath we breathe, in the sights that we see, the sense of touch, taste, the sounds we hear and the scents on the air. Love fuels the fires of our creativity. Love is the spark of life that burns deep within every living thing since the beginning of time, and love is what I feel when I create an inspiring image or when I see beautifully captured photographs of the stunning life forms that we share on this our very special planet for a brief moment in time.
Yesterday has passed tomorrow has yet to come the only time is right now. We are all guilty of either living in the past, worrying about the future or thinking if only this or only that but the time to live is right here right now. When we focus our eyes through our viewfinders and observe a moment unfolding it is then that we are truly alive and at one with the world.

Where do I begin to write about such an amazing talent. Alan's photography is top of my list to 'want' to see every time that I get the chance to log on to Flickr. His technique is flawless, he manages his exposures and balances to the highest level and his composition is outstanding. The detail in each shot is breathtaking and on many an occasion has left me speechless. I am so proud not only to call Alan a fellow nature lover but more so a photographer and friend. I wait for the day that I will see one of his shots on the cover of National Geographic. Thank you Alan for letting me share your experiences, spend time with the insects, view the same sunsets as you and dance with nature.

I have been a member of Flickr since 2009, but only started using it from October 2011, previously to joining Flickr I was a member of the Photo Answers Website and this is where I meet Alan Ginn!!! I have known Alan for about two years now and we have been sharing our images and points of view ever since the old Photo Answers days. Alan always finds the time for me and his contacts, he is a true gentlemen, kind and reliable!!! If anyone leaves a comment on Alan’s photostream he will visit your photostream and return the comments. One of the things I love about Alan, he doesn’t just click on your photos and leaves a comment saying great shot move on to the next, he studies your work and gives you his true opinion and in my book that is priceless. As far as photography goes Alan is 100% dedicated to his work, he is also a fantastic photographer and I always look forward to viewing his work. Not only is Alan an excellent photographer he is also a true friend Lawrence
