I started taking pictures at the age of nine when I stumbled upon my grandmother's Canon film camera. I captured a picture of a Hibiscus to bring into my third grade class for show and tell towards the end of the school year before my parents decided to homeschool me. I summited that picture which granted me first place in the performance fair at Grace Christian School in Bowie, MD. My very first camera was a Canon Powershot A590.In the winter of 2009, my mother bought me my first Nikon SLR camera knowing that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life along with cinematography.
In January 2010, I applied to be a Cast Member for Disney through their Disney College Internship Program. I applied on January 21, 2010 and had my interview with the company on January 27, 2010. The waiting period was long for me, but after 3 1/2 months of waiting, I got my purple folder with my acceptance letter to be a PhotoPass Photographer. I have been working in this field professionally for a year now and have loved every minute of it.
No matter what goes on in my life, I know that I have three things to turn to: my Savior, my parents, and photography. I'm thankful that Christ gave me such an eye for capturing special moments in the time. I love taking pictures because it is very therapeutic to me to see people laugh or smile when I take their picture. I love capturing people and nature. God is the painter of this world, and I'm just adding more colors to it with the snapshots I take from my camera.
