Berty is a true Flickr wunderkind. I know him primarily throught his fantastic "Score my B&W" site and his impressive photostream. The six-hundred plus shots in the stream demonstrate Berty's incredible versatility as a photographer. There are the superb HDR landscapes - in colour and black and white. Vivid and evocative, they haunt the imagination, like stills from classic movies, with titles like "Brief Encounter" and "I'm on a road to nowhere." Train platforms and chuch interiors, lighthouses and windmills all appear in delightful succession. Then there are his wonderful self-portraits. Inventive, witty, self-deprecating and equally delightful, they show another side of Berty's photographic skill altogether. And who could forget his street scenes, so reminiscent of classic French photograhy? I could go on, but the best way to experience Berty's work is to dive right into his stream, and swim around for a while. You won't be disappointed! He is a wonderfully supportive member of the Flickr community and I count it an honour to call him a contact and friend.
