I've been on Flickr since 2005 and I've seen some really amazing photos and met some really nice people. I've learned a lot just from looking at photos of those I admire and respect.

I started out doing portraiture but have transitioned away from that genre. I now concentrate mostly on animals, with an emphasis on horses and bears with some landscapes thrown in for good measure.

I hope you enjoy my work however, I own the rights to all my photos. You may not use them or do anything with them in any manner without getting my permission first. You can contact me via Flickr mail if you wish to use one of my images. It's not about who has the most "faves". It's about the exchange of ideas and our photography. Just sayin'

Thank you.

and BTW, if all you do is hit the fave button all the time, you're not likely to be on my contact list. I'm here to engage with other photographers. Flickr is not Facebook or Instagram

Nice ride with friends today

When I went tonight to write a testimonial about Jenny, I was not surprised to see 27 astute flick rites who got there before me ...and truthfully I sort of expected it. I am initially set out writing this out of a kindness Jenny did for me, and when I truly also looked through her stream..I was impressed (as a bonus) as it is riddled with talent, and artistic beauty, and artistic intelligence & know how and understanding of the photographic image. Jenny is an eclectic example of class, talent , and a big heart as it is evident that you can see by her photography that she is an outdoors girl and a severely talented one at that ...yet she is humble too...... which is not the norm considering the egos which exist on flickr . Jenny is an artist through and through..and her work is incredible ; whether she is photographing mountain ranges , canines , horses , bears birds etc etc etc ......To me she is somebody to take note of and watch and gauge ..... and on top of it all ........a true friend , which she has proven by her kindness and her empathy in type......... and in actions . There are lot of different type of artists on flickr ..Jenny truly has caught my eye and my heart as a friend ...humble , and honest ...to know her is to understand, and respect her .... as her talent and character is special ....... and the word integrity comes to the fore-front for what it should stand for . Further ; as far as her photographic prowess is concerned she knows how to put a picture together properly; she understands Pro signatures of what makes the picture better than the rest ........as most dont have a clue .......thus she puts together pictures most often with all the boxes checked, ........which is very revealing of her as she is a perfectionist and somebody that understands light and her camera........ as she choreographs her shots like a pro and is tremendous at post work when she wants to push the limits of her picture ...........and for me it becomes something special to look forward to her next posting as she ...... impresses ....and consistently gets better and better . I am lucky to know her and I dont know why she would bother with me .. she is a spectacular kind soul which is obviously recognized as she is in class with the best of whom I know on flickr ..and Im humbled she would pay attention to my work and my thoughts and my inquirieries . In the final analysis Jenny is one of the good ones for certain on flickr ......and Im a lucky to have her as a "true" friend ....Thanks Jenny again .........as you help make flickr Island bearable ....a true professional .......and a true friend..you humble me and I am grateful.......honoured ..and with respect ......Howard Brodsky

Jenny was one of the first people on flickr that I friended and at that time I knew absolutely nothing about photography, however, Jenny was so kind to leave a few comments on my not so great photos which help me boost my confidence and I appreciate that so much and I just wanted to thank you. Darn, it says 'don't bother with something rude or nasty', so now what am I going to write... Jenny is one of the top flickr members, in my opinion. I have a few contacts for whom I will actually get excited to see their new uploads. I can't remember one of Jenny's photos that I didn't love (well, ok, there was that one, but hey, Jenny, you can't bat 1.000... j/k). We seem to share the same photographic interests: bears, landscapes... oh, except I don't own or ride horses. The main difference is that Jenny takes all these gems and makes it seem easy. I think the animals sense what Jenny is all about and they pose for her camera. Finally, who could ask for a better flickr friend who is so generous with comments, even when she just shot something similar and far superior to yours. She makes me aspire to be a better photographer and person. p.s. I really hate that all your grizzly bear shots are so fantastic and I didn't take them, lol. Luv you Jenny.

I suppose we're all photo geeks on Flickr, each with a different category of fondness. My fascination lies in the world of animals, primarily. As such, I've gotten lost for hours while looking at great photos of animals in magazines, online, and people's personal photos. I have never found better wildlife photography than Jenny's. Period. The detail and simple artistic eye that she possesses creates enormous waves of jealousy every time I open her photostream. A great image tells a story. I've never read better stories of majestic grizzly bears or soulful horses than I have with her photos. And, she's cool enough to answer beginner photography questions when I asked. And, the icing on the picture cake is she is enjoying herself while capturing these images and living life. Premium art is found in no better form than right here, with Jenny's photography. One of my favorite photographers ever!

Jenny, One of the finest nature and creature of the wilds photographers I have the extreme pleasure of sharing images with thru flickr. Her eye for the beauty hidden in what most would see as a nice place is beyond compare. Her ability to capture this in camera is totally and completely amazing. Her concern and love of Bears is unmatched. Her ability to capture them going thru their daily life of surviving is beyond words. Her love of all wildlife is one of the most endearing qualities that I personally hold in a very high regard. I look through her stream here and her website and just yearn to someday see what she has seen, to capture with even a small degree of her ability a sampling of what she captures. “By it’s own nature, nature itself is but a fleeting beauty in it’s own time. Always changing, always recreating beauty in it’s own way”. Capturing that moment or second in time, is truly a talent held by few. Jenny holds that most precious and most cherished talent as no one I know. Her dedication and successes in this form of art put her at the top. Her willingness to share this talent and that “moment in time” is a credit to her personally and professionally. As a friend on flickr I hold that friendship very dear. Always kind to comment and critique my work on here and my website. I appreciate her time and talents that not only help me but also add to my talents. I have not known Jenny very long, but it makes no difference. When I first started viewing her images I was instantly hooked on her style of photography. She has a certain way of capturing wildlife images that I really like, and especially her bear shots. You can always tell when a photographer loves their subjects and that is by the way they photograph them. Another subject that Jenny loves to shoot is horse images. I have never seen anyone that can capture the grace and strength of horses the way she does. Her attention to composition and detail is amazing with both horse and bear images. I look forward to viewing each and every one of her photographs that she uploads. She not only is a fabulous photographer, but a genuinely wonderful lady. I am so glad I am one of her friends and contacts on flickr.. I feel blessed to know her. Thank you Jenny for making my flickr experience that much more special by your presence and your outstanding photography. All the best and smiles and hugs for you... Nick

My dear friend, Jenny. I am so incredibly blessed to know her, and deeply honored to have a friendship with her. We go through life meeting random people, and each of them contribute to our lives in different ways. Jenny has changed my life in ways that are so strange and beautiful that it will take a novel to record it. Her photography speaks to me and moves me. It is not just because I have a deep love for nature, horses and dogs, but there is a personality to them that is all Jenny. There is beauty behind every photograph, a beauty that stems from a deep love and unstinting respect for her subjects. It is incredibly awe-inspiring for me, and I am sure for those who appreciate her art and eye for beauty, be it simple or complex. Not only is she a fantastic photographer, Jenny is a wonderful and talented story-teller. You really cannot appreciate a photograph unless there is a story behind it, and the beauty of it is, you can interpret it however you want! Stunning. Also, she interjects every picture with her brand of humor and power of observation. Not only do I look forward to her new works, but also the little snippets she adds to them ... be it a lesson, a quote, or a funny incident. It is such a joyful experience, and I am grateful to experience the magnificence of Life through her lens. Professional or Platonic, Jenny will leave a lasting impression of her artistic and creative talent in your lives. Love you, Jenny!

Whenever I look at Jenny’s photo stream I am reminded of the indigenous peoples of North America, as their home was a home in a great and beautiful land. A home shared with the mountains and the plains, the forest and the rivers, and all the spirit beings two legged, four legged, and winged, which lived there as well. As a way of life closed for those first Nations the duty and pleasure has been handed on to new generations of peoples to rejoice and share in gifts offered to any who should care to look upon this same fair land. So take a moment and travel back in time while viewing Jenny’s photos. Read, and see, so perhaps you can glimpse the soul of a mountain’s forest, the heart of a grizzly bear, the spirit of a noble horse, or perhaps the joy found in a baby boy. I believe Jenny has an old soul and conveys through her lens, to any who care to indulge, the undeniable riches held in this ancient land. An old land that spoke to those who first lived there, through aspen leaves dancing on mountain breezes, creeks babbling down mountainsides, and all the creatures’ great and small who once lived, and some remain. I believe this land, the old ones called “Monolaya”, speak through Jenny, and its message is as clear today as it was for those first nation’s peoples so long ago; “walk softly as this is the home of all, and should continue to be as long as the rivers flow …. And the grasses grow”… cbc

There is a kingdom of brutes in the far Wild West marked by a serene river flowing through it. In this river country, uncharacteristically named Battle, the fiercest of beasts roam free. Meek prefer to stay away from this kingdom and the brave try to walk past it with paced strides. Forlorn as it is, it is also strikingly beautiful. It was this beauty which lured a princess of a nearby kingdom to this land. The princess had the soul of an artist, the eyes of a painter and the talent of a sculptor. She could recreate beauty on her canvas as effortlessly as the wind blows though the moor. It was inevitable that she found her calling in the wild beauty of the Battle country. Once there, she was ruthless in her creations. Days and nights melted into a motionless haze as she captured the beasts of the land and set their souls free on her canvases. In her frames, the beasts became emotional beings; their aggression was now only a small fragment of what were. The beasts were parents and children, hunters and hunted, clowns and sages, mostly solitary and sometimes in a crowd. They touched the princess as much as the princess touched them. She had spread her charm on the land like the earthly tunes of an old native Indian lullaby. She soaked in the land and the land soaked her in return. One became inseparable from the other. Now, when the princess is back into the daily motions of her own kingdom, the wild buzzing songs of the land lures her back. She knows she will soon give in. She knows she will go back to the land that has crept into her very essence. There is no other option; she must respond to this soul-stirring call of the wild. Go Jenny!

If you've got some time to kick back and relax a bit and are in the mood for giving yourself a real treat, go ahead and click on one of Jenny's sets and run a slide show. Be it grizzlies, horses, dogs, whatever, just be sure you've given yourself a good amount of time because you will find yourself pausing each image, unable to let go of the beauty, enchantment and splendor filling your screen. I'll swear Jenny photographs from the inside out because what you see is not just the light and form recorded by her camera's sensor, but you see the inner soul of the animal coming through as well. Any of us would be thrilled to come up with just one image that could compare with dozens upon dozens that Jen has throughout her photostream. I've commented several times to her that she has forever ruined the grizzly's reputation for ferocity because she has a bunch of photos that have those bears looking so cute and cuddly that you just want to run right up to them and give them a great big hug. And, as beautiful as her photos are, you'll get equal pleasure from her words. She's full of humor, sensitive, insightful and has a wonderful ability to express herself through the written word. She'll usually keep you laughing, but if she's relating something sad, be prepared to shed a few tears; she's equally skilled at both ends of the spectrum. But, most important, she is a real good friend. Post an image that she likes and she'll let you know every time. And, if she knows you're going through a difficult time, she'll be right there with a compassionate word. She's a rare find on Flickr or anywhere else, and I consider it a real honor that she has accepted me as a contact and friend.

Whether her subjects are birds, flowers , landscapes or family members, she brings her personal touch to every picture she takes. Her photos and her descriptions invite you into her world. But there is one aspect of her photography that stands out even more than all of the rest: Her equine photography. When Jenny photographs a horse, it is not a picture of an animal. It's as if you are being shown someone or something special. You sense a bond between Jenny and the horse, as if they belong to each other. Jenny is the best ambassador a horse can have. She makes "mucking stalls" sound like fun."

I will always remember the day I stumbled onto this site. I’d clicked over here through Explore, and one gorgeous portrait led to another gorgeous portrait led to another gorgeous portrait… and before I knew it, I found myself lost down the rabbit hole of Jenny Grimm’s magical farm. Jenny captures animals with a majesty and grace I’ve rarely seen outside her site. Her equine photography is a stunning testimony to the power of a camera in the hands of an artist. The old tribes had it right all along: it is possible to capture someone’s soul in a photograph. That’s exactly what Jenny does, image after image. Jenny knows how to illuminate her subject's individuality and unique personality. In each of her portraits, you can see that essence, that unmistakable life-spark in her subject’s eyes. Her horses seem almost to gallop; her hummingbirds nearly fly from the screen. She is of course a master of all the technical aspects of her craft, but more important, she has that one special gift that can never be taught: the true artist’s vision.

Jenny has always made the time to view my photos and give such wonderful, encouraging and supportive..and many times humorous comments.. she really has a way of seeing things others don't. We've become close, fast flickr friends through the years and I truly cherish that friendship. She has a heart of pure gold and is a giver - not a taker - she's not out to see who she can beat in getting comments, this isn't a competition for her, it's her passion - she's shared so many wonderful, fantastic, unique images with us, with each of her photos, she's sharing a part of herself with us, she gives a great slant in her writing narratives and often makes me laugh out loud, which believe me, many times is much needed. Jenny has always been a loyal, compassionate, witty, empathetic, encouraging friend, I"ve been so blessed in more ways than I can say here to call her my friend. Her photography and writing talents know no boundaries - she has an eye for beauty, laughter, love, tenderness, action - she's one of the best shooters here - Keep 'em coming girlfriend! :)
