Born in Deer Lake and gained an interest in photography from my father who actually had a photo darkroom when I was a toddler in the 1950's. I now live in Mount Pearl and travel rural Newfoundland and the world looking for that elusive prize winning image with the "wow" factor. Still looking !! I enjoy the marine and cultural landscapes of Newfoundland, love nature photography and wildlife imagery. In fact, I enjoy all pursuits in the great outdoors.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the things that you did do. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain
Whenever I photograph an animal or bird the well-being of the animals takes precedence over any photo. I follow the North American Nature Photography guidelines and ABA Code of Ethics. I am continually learning animal behavior and natural history, so that I can better understand the wildlife I photograph, and to minimize my disturbance in their natural settings.

"Sometimes I think that the point of birdwatching is not the actual seeing of the birds, but the cultivation of patience. Of course, each time we set out, there's a certain amount of expectation we'll see something, maybe even a species we've never seen before, and that it will fill us with light. But even if we don't see anything remarkable - and sometimes that happens - we come home filled with light anyway."
