Our story began back in 1965 with the opening of QMA, Quality Machine & Associates. The new business, wholly owned and operated by Don Henthorn, quickly gained a reputation as the premier manufacturer specialized in precision machine work and servicing customers like Rocketdyne, Rockwell and Hughes Aircraft. In 1979, QMA began development on its newest project—a hydraulic tubing bender designed for muffler shops. They settled on the brand name BendPak, and a legend was born. Who would have guessed where our devotion to the customer would lead us?
Today, BendPak is the world's leading producer of lifting systems, pipe-benders and air compressors with a global commitment to never settle. We continually test and retest our lifting systems at our product development and engineering facility in Santa Paula, CA, and verify standards conformity using ETL, UL, TUV, GOST, ANSI and CE testing laboratories.
Globally Minded, Singular in Purpose
In fact, all sales, final inspections, engineering, testing, product development and standards certifications are performed at our factory in Santa Paula, CA. Other production is performed at BendPak operated factories overseas that are responsible for component manufacturing. Our current facilities encompass over 600,000 square feet and consist of vertically integrated manufacturing, operations and logistics facilities across the globe. They are all ISO 9000 and 9001 accredited, further supporting our position as a premier global manufacturer. At BendPak, we ensure that our offshore manufacturing is no different in approach, standards, quality, inspection or packaging from our domestic production. These facilities are audited year round and undergo systematic evaluation of documented quality programs such as TUV, ANSI/ALI ALCTV, CSA, UL and AS/NZS 1418.9. The program is audited quarterly, regardless of the facility location, to ensure continued compliance with all applicable standards.
