I fell in love with photography by accident.
A nagging need to stay far from the frame led me behind the lens. I used to hate being in front of the camera, open to all that was there.
A man whom I now call my husband encouraged me to do something about it. He bought a small point-and-shoot, digital camera, possibly knowing that I would use it more.
I carried it around everywhere.
A stint abroad was a revelation. I kept a camera in my purse at all times, documenting anything and everything I could, framing and re-framing the beauty I started to see all around me.
A few on-the-job experiences required me to take photos of various subjects. They challenged me to open up to subjects as much as I wanted to stay closed.
And now, I finally have a DSLR, no training, and an avowed passion to keep writing. With light.
All comments and feedback are welcome! Flickr has been an excellent way for me to learn about photography, and I hope to eventually do something with all that I've culled here.
