"My imagination is a monastery and I am its monk" — John Keats

Thanks for 15 fun years on Flickr.

Hard to believe how quickly the time has flown and how many, many stories have been told through these photos. Flickr friends have come and gone. Some will remain in my heart forever.

When I started here in 2006, I was a landscape photographer. Portraits evolved through an absolute labor of love. Many of the children I photographed had never had a portrait taken of them. Some were healthy vibrant teenagers and others were living their final days on earth. These images remain as a legacy to their resilient powerful hearts and an important reminder for their families.

Hope you enjoy the results of my field trips into the mountains of Colorado, the abandoned buildings of the south, the frequent concerts, the beautiful faces of the people I admire, and my belief that a "Thousand Beautiful Things" are within 1 mile of my house.

Photoshop is my anti-stress therapy. The way I see it, all this detail therapy beats the heck out of retail therapy any day.

Please ask before you blog or use my photos. Some Tribal photos are off limits, but the rest we can talk about.

Kindest Regards,

Geneva

I love the sensitive and insightful work of this visual poet... observe, drink deeply. I especially love her close portraits... they are beautifully seen and lit, but the best is the initimate connection and response she is able to capture from these folks she knows or just met... that is really moving.

Her images are soulful; spiritual; and beautifully styled. Aside from being creative and extremely intelligent, Beebe exudes a playful spirit that can be felt from miles away.

Her photos are, without any doubt, extensions of whatever lives in her soul. Having met her, and the people who surround her with love, made me embrace an old (infatuation/love affair/passion) for photography. As soon as any free time comes along, I will post some of my photographs in this awesome community! Thank you Beebe for finding me!!!!!!!!!

Photography is only one of Geneva's fantastic skills as her other art here demonstrates. Creativity to the Nth degree! Her ability to put herself out there and share is something I strive for. Flickr aside Geneva is the most amazing person I have never met. Compassion, honor, and respect are mere words to the vast majority and she lives them daily in her work and her life. I'm truly honored and inspired to call Geneva a friend and attempt to live as well as she.

beebe_gzb, as a recent member of Flickr, you've come a long way in a very short time, with your keen eye and appreciation for life around you. You find 1,000 beautiful things in your neighbourhood, while so many of us flee our neighbourhoods to visit other people's neighbourhoods. Then we return with tons of photos. I commend you for seeing the beauty at your own doorsteps. I must also commend you for the wide range of subject matter, and, in particular, for bringing us a little closer to the Native American. Welcome, and continue to amuse, inform and amaze us. [Note: I wouldn't have changed a word if she were a total stranger. But she just happens to be my dear friend.]
