Artist Profile – Belinda Joynes

After devoting many years to being a Mother and pursuing other career paths, Belinda Joynes discovered her love of painting a few years ago. As an emerging artist, she has spent the past few years exploring the art world and developing her unique style. She is based in Mandurah in Western Australia.

Working mostly in acrylics, Belinda endeavors to explore life from a feminine perspective.

Belinda’s work is centered around feminine figures that represent the internal struggle of modern women. "I try to capture that fleeting moment when a person’s defenses come down and the heart and soul are exposed. I draw from my own experiences as a daughter, mother, wife and woman to create artworks that explore the unfulfilled dream. My compositions explore the internal struggle between responsibility, obligation and personal fulfillment.”

Belinda’s work is influenced by classical European art forms, Japanese style and contemporary pop culture.
