"It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living."

David Attenborough

The natural world has always been my inspiration. It fascinates me in such a way that I chose to study Biology at Nottingham University, and then pursue a Master's Degree in Biological Photography and Imaging. I wasn't content with just appreciating the wonders of nature myself; I needed to capture them on camera for the world to see.

Having grown up in the North West of England, how could I fail to be inspired by the atmospheric Derbyshire Moors, the breathtaking Cumbrian Fells, and of course the leafy Cheshire lanes. I have wonderful childhood memories of autumn walks in Tatton Park, the red squirrels at Formby, the ospreys soaring over Bassenthwaite Lake, and the diverse range of animals at Chester Zoo. These are all places I still love to visit.

Nature never fails to amaze me, from the quirky aardvark to the two-tone zebra, the fragile snowdrop to the majestic oak, and the re-claimed quarry to the ancient Borrowdale Valley. Nature has a picture to suit everybody's taste, and it is my aim to capture every one of these inspirational images through the lens of my camera.
