I make photo´s mainly for my own pleasure, but never shared these publicly before starting on flickr in 2009. The effect was:
1. That I learned a lot and seriously improved my images ( I was not so much interested in technique but more in transmitting atmosphere and communication of the unspeakable)
2. I lost a lot of time! The addictive capacity of social networks is frightening and I therefore tend to keep the number of my flickr-friends low!
I am concerned about the public side of using flickr and therefore happy to have some Dutch friends, not only because I share their minimalist aesthtics but also because not everybody can read the comments I am making!
I see the contradiction and try out every now and than to find out what "strangers"s can find about me on the internet, hoping that it is not that bad. But it is, I do find whole series of comments out of context, fotos from me and my friends, on places in the public where I do not have any control.. This scares me.
I am further also concerned about the way how we are encouraged to use "applications" that demand us to open our files for commercial purposes!
I enjoy seeing so many of your magical fotos, and getting so many serious comments on my fotos. I wonder where this all will led me! For the moment he result is enriching. I do not spend so much time on flickr as before in order to keep the balance.
My interest in textiles and writing about textiles can be seen on my blog www.textile-forum-blog.org/de

I find her mastery of light in landscape photography. Love for animals as also reflected in his works, which I agree with this… Read more

I find her mastery of light in landscape photography. Love for animals as also reflected in his works, which I agree with this sentiment. Continues to delight us with your photos Beatrijs.
