I have always looked for ways to express myself through art, in one medium or another. I've been using glass as my medium of choice since 2006.

I have been completely absorbed and addicted to creating lampwork beads ever since. I've been making jewelry since I was a teenager.

I learned about lampworking when I was introduced to fused glass by my sister-in-law Teresa. I was inspired by her work and began researching fused glass. I happened to come across lampwork beads on the internet and I was immediately drawn to the art of lampworking (who doesn't like to play with fire?) and knew it was something I had to try. I am self taught by way of numerous tutorials, forums and lots of practice!

I get ideas and inspiration for my beads from just about everywhere. Shapes, colors, textures seen in nature are infinitely inspiring ! My mood affects my color schemes as well. I live in an area where I see the changing of the seasons in a dramatic way and it always gets my creative juices flowing.

I have a pretty eclectic style. I see so many variations from one bead that I have to explore the possibilities in the design, shapes, layers of colors and how different colors react with each other. I feel like a mad scientist at times ! The possibilities are truly endless and I find the process exciting and challenging. I love the satisfaction that I get when I complete a bead and the feeling of pride when I pull out my little creations from the kiln.
