I've taken too long to recognise that the one love that has stayed with me beyond all others is photography. I was bitten at age 7 after pointing an old brownie out of a train window as we sped past orchards in Kent and a school teacher on the trip told me it wouldn't come out. When it did I thought I had done something worthy and was hooked.

My first SLR was a Chinnon (UK Electonic retailer 'Dixons' own) and I loved it. Bang for buck it was fabulous value and fairly capable and I have many thousands of shots taken with it still on paper.

After a bit of a break while I focussed on my career, I had the honour of meeting Jonathan Ryan and John Owen (both on Flickr) when I luckily contracted their services to photograph my daughters wedding and BANG The inspiration returned. Thanks guys.

I dare say I am too entrenched in my corporate career to do anything with photography as a profession now but oh how I would have loved to have studied it seriously many years ago.

I upgraded my EOS400 to a 5DMkII not long back and am trying to complete an online course which I found that wasn't geared for absolute beginners and which has taught me a great deal since starting. Getting the time to finish it.... well... there's the problem.

So feel very free to offer any constructive criticism that you feel may improve my results, us self taught folk dont have the benefit of a tutor on hand so I rely on you all.
