If i had to choose a particular type of photographer to consider myself i would choose Portrait Photographer. Not because it is my favorite or what i am best at, but because it is the most intimate of photographs and arguably the most difficult. Not only do you have to combine all the aspects of a photograph (composition, lighting, timing, and perspective) but the human aspect, earning the trust of the subject, while at the same time giving them the confidence to be themselves. Stripping away the many masks that a person puts up when they enter into public, is a difficult thing to do. And when someone gives you this importunity to immortalize an image of them, it is a great honor.
