Battle for Britain LHG can portray various scenarios from during the Second World War. The centerpiece of Battle for Britain’s display comprises of a replica Me109. Scenarios can be carried out with the plane demonstrating various incidents such as Local Defence Volunteers guarding the plane, or a Luftwaffe airfield.
At present the Me109 features the markings of Unteroffizier Arno Zimmermann of 7 Staffel/Jagdgeschwader 54. Zimmermann was shot down on October 27th 1940 following a mission over Tunbridge, Kent. The plane was engaged by Hurricanes from No.605 Squadron, resulting in damage to the engine which forced Zimmermann to land on Lydd Beach, Kent.
Battle for Britain LHG is a non-political organisation aimed at educating the public about both sides of the Second World War. Battle for Britain LHG members operate according to the groups rules and regulations. Battle for Britain LHG does not accept anyone with extreme political views.
