hey kids...

so i am a musician--that is my biggest passion in life. but--my degree is in photography, so i have a love for that as well. it has always been a juggling act between music and photography, and music has always won. it's the one thing that i've wanted in my life since i was about 12 years old, and it is the one 'love' that has been with me since then. to support/supplement the music career over the last 18 years or so, i worked in the photo industry, the last 14 years for a company in california called calypso imaging. being in the industry sort of took away my desire to shoot on my own, except when i needed art work for cds or when people i know hired me or needed a shot or 2 for something. working in a lab with a film department(of which i was a part of for the last few years until i left the industry in july) allowed me free film processing, so i shot film until i decided to take this grand adventure to australia to work on my 4th solo cd, meet a girl i'd fallen for on my space, work on her 1st cd, and have an extreme life adventure.

so before leaving for australia, i bought my first digital camera, as i knew i would want to take a lot of shots. also, as i have been more and more into graphics, it just makes sense to have immediate access to imagery---and my days of free film processing and cheap drums scans/lightjet prints are over....; ). i just bought a point and shoot(a 7.2 mega pixel, but still, just a little camera), and i have definitely put it through the ringer on this trip---it has been amazing, but i have indeed outgrown it....still miss my ancient nikon FE too....anyway---up to this point, this flickr account has really just been for me to display images of the trip for my friends and family back(up) home. i have a back log of images yet to post, and i am now inspired again to shoot much, much more---that is one of the great things i have come to appreciate about digital photo.

i invite you all to visit my music spaces as well---see/listen to my life's work and biggest passion.
