-- The photographer --

I've been photographing for most of my life, ever since I received a Box Brownie camera on my 6th birthday. Together with numerous rolls of 120 film, with which I made some of the most beautiful but also many utterly useless photos. I've been attempting to improve my skills since then.

-- The goal --

My photography seems to balance between the aesthetic and the therapeutic, describing a world I have difficulty understanding as well as opening pathways in my mind to learn to see again. In both familiar and strange ways, I am learning to see beyond the veneer and the masks, trying to capture the essence of people, places and circumstances. Catching a glimpse in an eye or eternalising a momentary expression in one simple click, the world becomes a more friendly place for me.

"Photography is a bit like archery. A technically better camera, lens or arrow may not hit the target as often as it could if the photographer or archer does not practice enough."
