about my photographs
what you're seeing is organically grown on digital sensor with common application of tripod and natural add-ons like gradual or warming filters, hand picked at late night hours or in the evenings. no genetic modifications are applied after harvesting, bare for (rich) flavouring with contrast and saturation, removing some spots and applying minor gradual filters. personally, i really hate fake skies and despise digital manipulations being presented as photographs (which they are not!). photography is this unique form of visual art which is about capturing a specific view at a specific moment of time, and not adding things a posteriori! what you're seeing in my portfolio is what my viewfinder saw at that particular moment. with lightroom's help to overcome some absolutism of digital sensor
a little about my participation on flickr to all those who I follow or who follow me
I'm not very heavy on social aspect of flickr - I come here for photographs, to view works of others and to showcase a selection of my own photos, with focus entirely on the photos and not me liking someone or vice versa. I do have a large pool of followed artists, so chance is if you are seeing me as following you - I actually do care what you're doing, and am checking my feed regularly for updates with your new photos. I may not comment often but I stay up to date and apparently you're still doing very good job (otherwise you'd not be seeing my among your followers :D ), just try to drop a thumbs up comment every once in a while when I like some photo a lot. then I try to say something meaningful about my emotional reaction to your shot.
other than L'Europe pittoresque, a group that I am very fond of as viewer, I don't really do the group comment thingy. it has all of the mass production line vibe to me, this copy-pasting of same code without actually giving anything back to the author. nor I enjoy receiving those - I do appreciate some extra exposure from those "comment banner" groups, sure, but those mass-pasted impersonal comments are not really exciting. a comment with few personal words that you actually spend some time to think about - are much more motivating. for those who still have time to write such - thank you! I don't need inspiration to go on shooting, nor am I a person fueled by public appreciation - but receiving those personal comments every now and then adds some joy to participating in flickr community.
