Based in the UK.
Used to shoot film in my teens and twenties, mainly black-and-white, using a fairly low-budget Praktica. I became an early adopter of digital photography, mainly for the fun factor, first using the early Sony "floppy-disk" camera, and then moved onto Canon (ending up with a 30D). But then, after time, drifted into the "holiday snapping" guise that many people seem to do, and eventually lost interest.
After a brief resurgence in 2014 (off the back of a fabulous holiday) i fell back onto a photography furrow, and did not resurface again until early 2017 (after treating myself to new kit for a milestone birthday). This time crossing the rubicon from Canon to Nikon.
Since then, I have got back into it with renewed enthusiasm and vigour, and am enjoying the experimentation with styles and subjects.
I'm not really that good at photographing people (in fact i will strive to exclude people from my photos), but I do like street art, graffiti, unusual and old buildings, odd facets and features, sky (big sky), clouds, contrasts, classic old cars, weird and wide angles, and ducks.
And i still enjoy Black and White photography, and like to play with the tones and colours as part of the process of converting to monochrome - I don't think it is just a simple matter of conversion, it has to look and feel right.
For me, this is still a hobby; albeit a hobby that consumes lots of time and money!
